Cupra Tavascan Origin: a new entry version with a 58 kWh LFP battery, from £39,995 in the UK
Cupra launches the Tavascan Origin in the UK, a new entry version with a 58 kWh LFP battery and 190 PS from £39,995. The rest of the range gets cheaper too.

The Cupra Tavascan electric SUV coupé just got easier to reach. In the UK the range gains a new entry version, Origin, with a 58 kWh LFP battery and a starting price of £39,995. The news comes from "electrive" and the official Cupra UK release.
A new battery for the base range
Origin uses a 58 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack and a 190 PS motor. According to "electrive", it does 0–62 mph in 8.6 seconds and charges on DC at up to 105 kW, going from 10 to 80% in about 26 minutes. Cupra UK quotes a WLTP range of 273 miles.
The same 58 kWh battery also powers the V1 and V2 versions, while the 77 kWh pack with 286 or 340 PS stays available further up the range.
Generous kit from the first trim
Even Origin is well equipped: 19-inch VULCANO wheels, heated front seats, a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit and a 15-inch central screen with Android-based infotainment. "electrive" also mentions a new steering wheel with physical buttons.

The UK line-up now has five trims: Origin, V1, V2, VZ and VZ Extreme. The good news is that the other versions get cheaper too: the V1 with 77 kWh costs £45,750 (£1,600 less), the VZ £54,930 and the VZ Extreme £59,830.
Phone key and V2L
From V1 upwards you get the Mobile Device Key on your phone and V2L, which lets the car power electrical devices. V2 adds a Sennheiser sound system, and VZ gets Launch Control.

On the continent, "electrive" reports prices of €39,990 in the Netherlands and €49,900 in Germany.
What it means for drivers
The Tavascan Origin lowers the entry point to one of Europe's most expressive electric SUVs. The LFP battery handles regular charging to 100% well, and the base kit is complete. For those who want more, the higher trims are now cheaper as well.
