Slovakia is one step from Tesla FSD (Supervised): the transport minister will send recognition of the Dutch approval “in the coming days”
Slovak transport minister Jozef Ráž says the ministry has negotiated with Tesla and will send its recognition letter to the Netherlands. Slovakia would become the ninth EU country with FSD (Supervised).

Slovakia is getting ready to become the ninth European Union country where Tesla FSD (Supervised) can be used legally. Transport minister Jozef Ráž Jr. announced yesterday, in a video posted on social media, that the ministry is working on approving the system and that the process is nearly complete.
According to Slovak outlet Startstop.sk, the ministry has already negotiated directly with Tesla and plans to send a so-called recognition letter to the Netherlands in the coming days. With it, Slovakia would adopt the provisional approval granted by the Dutch authority RDW on April 10, just as neighboring Czechia did on September 21.
The FSD(TAD)Germany account wrote on X that Slovakia "just approved" FSD. Formally, the approval hasn't been issued yet: the final steps are due to be completed within days, and only then can Tesla switch the system on for cars registered in Slovakia.
Why Bratislava wants FSD
Ráž says the main reason is safety. According to the minister, the available data shows fewer crashes in cars with such systems. In Slovakia too, the driver remains fully responsible for the car and must supervise the road at all times.
The Tesla Owners Slovakia club has already announced an event: two groups of cars will cross the country end to end, from opposite directions, using only FSD.
Where it's approved so far
FSD (Supervised) is allowed in eight EU states: the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Belgium, Slovenia, Czechia and Croatia. EU-wide approval remains on hold until December, after the TCMV committee discussed the file on October 6 without a vote. Meanwhile, Germany has said it will back the system in the EU vote.
What about Romania?
Romania has not recognized the Dutch approval. Tesla ties FSD availability to the country where the car is registered, so a Romanian-registered Tesla can't use it even after crossing into a country that has approved it.
