Tesla Model 3 covers 1,010 km on a single charge on Romanian roads
YouTube channel SDA Dan Cars drove a Model 3 Long Range RWD 1,010 km without charging, at 7.39 kWh/100 km and with 5% battery left.

After the BMW iX3 hit 1,011 km in Canada, it's worth remembering that a Tesla did almost the same on Romanian roads. YouTube channel "SDA Dan Cars" drove a 2026 Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD (LG 5M battery, 82 kWh) 1,010 km on one charge, on public roads rather than a test track.
The setup
The car was charged to 100% at an ElDrive station. The trunk and frunk were emptied and tire pressures adjusted. On the road it ran in Chill mode, with no air conditioning in 32°C heat, Autopilot engaged and as few stops as possible. The target was to stay under 80 Wh/km.
The numbers
- 91% battery at 100 km, still 61% at 400 km;
- loops from Bucharest toward Slobozia, with an overnight stop;
- 74.7 kWh used, averaging 7.39 kWh/100 km (13.53 km/kWh);
- 20 hours 2 minutes of driving, finishing with 5% battery.
What it means
Speed was the key: the best range comes at 40–60 km/h, and warm summer temperatures helped. This is a hypermiling exercise, not a realistic way to travel, but it shows how efficient the Model 3 is at low speeds. The test ended with a rapid charge in Fetești.
