How to install the S3XY Commander on a Tesla Model 3 yourself in about five minutes
Romanian channel TesladiyRomania shows step by step how to fit Enhance Auto's S3XY Commander to a 2022 AMD Ryzen Tesla Model 3: which trim comes off, where the plugs go and how to check it works.

The S3XY Commander from "Enhance Auto" is one of the most popular Tesla accessories: a module that plugs into the car and adds buttons and functions Tesla doesn't offer from the factory. Romanian channel "TesladiyRomania" shows in a five-and-a-half-minute video how to fit it yourself on a 2022 Tesla Model 3 with the AMD Ryzen computer.
What's in the box
The kit has three parts: the Commander itself, an adapter cable and a plastic trim tool. The version in the video goes on the right-hand side, in the passenger footwell, behind the side trim.
The steps
- Use the plastic tool to pry the right-hand side trim from top to bottom. It has a clip at the top and a hook that releases when you pull outwards.
- Remove the pin and unclip the plastic panel, then gently pull the panel underneath backwards.
- Unplug the car's original connector, plug it into the adapter cable, and plug the adapter into the car's socket. The adapter's second plug goes into the Commander.
- Connect the Commander and check that the LED lights up, which means the module has power. No error appeared on the screen.
- Find a spot where it doesn't touch other trim, to avoid rattles.
- When refitting the trim, its two teeth go into the carpet, then clip it back in the reverse order.
Why it matters
It's the author's first video of this install and it shows: everything was done one-handed, with the phone in the other hand. The good news is that the job needs no special tools and doesn't touch the high-voltage system. Configuring the module in its app isn't covered in the video.
