Tesla's Robotaxi app can now be downloaded in Europe, including Romania. Rides are still US-only
The Robotaxi app has shown up in app stores in the UK, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Australia and other countries. The point: tourists can install it at home and use it in the seven US cities where the service runs.

The Tesla Robotaxi app can now be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play in many more countries, including the UK, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Australia and Singapore. The expansion was spotted over the October 4–5 weekend by investor Sawyer Merritt and by Tesla-focused sites.
We also checked the Romanian store: on October 6, the app is listed in Romania's App Store. We couldn't separately confirm availability on Google Play in Romania.
For tourists, not for Europe
Being able to download the app in Europe doesn't mean robotaxis are coming to Bucharest or Berlin. Its purpose is practical: a tourist can install the app at home and use it on arrival in a US city where the service runs. Anyone who downloads it can hail a car, as long as they're inside an active service area. Tesla says the app is available in 29 languages.
Access has widened step by step. At the Austin pilot launch in June 2025, the app was iPhone-only and had a waitlist. The Android version followed this spring.
Where you can take a ride
The Robotaxi service runs in seven US cities:
- Austin
- the San Francisco Bay Area
- Dallas
- Houston
- Miami
- Orlando
- Tampa
In the Bay Area, a Tesla employee still rides in the car. The Cybercab, the car with no steering wheel or pedals, can only be booked in Austin, where Tesla recently extended commercial ride hours until 11 p.m.
What about Europe?
Elon Musk hinted last month that the Cybercab could come to Europe "soon," but gave no timeline. For now, even FSD (Supervised) doesn't have EU-wide approval, so a Robotaxi ride on European roads is still a long way off.
For the size of each service area and how Robotaxi differs from FSD Supervised, see our map of Tesla's Robotaxi markets.
