Tuesday's launches

  • 12:30 – iCAUR, European launch. iCAUR is Chery group's "New Energy" brand, and Romania is the first European market it officially enters. The star is the V27, an off-roader-styled SUV with electric drive and a range extender (the petrol engine only works as a generator). Pre-orders open with the reveal.
  • 13:00 – Subaru E-Outback, making its debut, alongside the electric Solterra and Uncharted.
  • 14:00 – Leapmotor, with the electric B05, B03X and T03, plus the B10 and C10 in range-extender Hybrid EV form.

Other EVs on show

  • Volvo EX60, the new electric SUV, shown in Romania for the first time. Volvo quotes up to 810 km WLTP and up to 340 km added in 10 minutes of charging. Next to it: EX30, EX90 and ES90.
  • The new-generation Nissan LEAF and the electric Nissan Micra, both national premieres. Nissan says they will join its Romanian range early next year.
  • BYD, with its electric and plug-in hybrid line-up, plus its Blade Battery and e-Platform 3.0 tech.
  • Kia EV2, EV3, EV4 and EV6 GT.
  • Hyundai Kona Electric, IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, Mazda 6e and CX-6e, Cadillac LYRIQ, Suzuki eVitara, Toyota bZ4X.
  • LEPAS, Chery's new brand imported by Materom, with the L8 plug-in hybrid SUV. We covered LEPAS's parts and service set-up here.

Other brands on the list include BMW, Chery, Ford, Honda, Jeep, MG, KGM, Forthing, Jetour, Alfa Romeo and Fiat. The second edition of Smart Urban Mobility runs alongside, with fast chargers and urban transport solutions.

At the weekend: drifting and classic cars

From October 9 to 11, the outdoor SAB Arena Motorsport hosts drift demos and the DB Drag Romania final, and there's a historic car area inside. On Friday, October 9, from 10:00 to 12:00, the "Green Friday" conference looks at the future of mobility.

If you want to see the EVs without the crowds, weekdays are your best bet.
