Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA expand their partnership: urban point-to-point assistance, automated parking and, long term, Level 4
Mercedes-Benz will use the NVIDIA Hyperion platform and Alpamayo stack for urban point-to-point driving assistance, active safety and automated parking, with SAE Level 4 as the long-term goal.

Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA are taking a big step together. The two companies have expanded their strategic partnership for automated driving, "Mercedes-Benz Group" announced on October 16. The goal: more capable assistance in the city, automated parking and, in the long run, cars that drive themselves.
What the deal brings
Future Mercedes models will combine the MB.OS operating system with the NVIDIA Hyperion platform. It runs the Alpamayo software stack, used for:
- point-to-point urban driving assistance, from departure to destination;
- active safety functions;
- automated parking.
In parallel, the NVIDIA Halos safety stack constantly checks decisions, like an independent second co-pilot.
The target: Level 4
Long term, the partners are aiming for SAE Level 4, including driverless robo-limousines. The collaboration also covers simulation for development and MO360 digital production in Mercedes plants.

The foundation is already here
The new CLA offers MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO, a Level 2 system that uses around 30 sensors and can guide the car through the city under driver supervision. It has been available in China since late 2025 and arrives in the US during 2026. The expanded partnership builds on that experience. Volkswagen is also working with NVIDIA technology, as we wrote about its Wayve collaboration.
What it means for drivers
For drivers, the result means more relaxed trips through traffic, stress-free parking and more safety. Mercedes remains among the leaders in assisted driving, and the pace is picking up. We covered the recent success of Mercedes EVs here.
