Renault Twingo E-Tech electric price in Romania: orders open from €19,590, 263 km range and full specs
The new Renault Twingo E-Tech electric is now in Renault Romania's configurator: Evolution from €19,590, Techno from €21,240, 27.5 kWh LFP battery, 80 hp, up to 263 km WLTP and 15–80% in 28 minutes.

Good news if you have been waiting for a small, affordable electric car: the new Renault Twingo E-Tech electric is now listed in Renault Romania's online configurator and can be ordered starting today. The official site lists a starting price of €19,590, and Renault says "2 versions are available to order immediately". I went through the model page, the configurator and Renault's press kit to sum up what you get for the money.
How much the electric Twingo costs in Romania
There are two trims, both with the same motor and battery:
- Twingo Evolution: from €19,590
- Twingo Techno: from €21,240
The data on the "Renault Romania" page shows this list price has applied since October 22, 2026. The site does not say clearly, next to the price, whether the Rabla scrappage bonus is already deducted, so ask the dealer for an exact quote with VAT and any subsidy before you sign. For comparison, the global "Renault Group" press release gave European prices of €19,490 for Evolution and €21,090 for Techno, before government grants. Romanian pricing is therefore very close to the European level.
Motor, battery and range
The Twingo uses a 60 kW electric motor (listed as 80 hp in the Romanian configurator and 82 hp in the press release) with 175 Nm of torque and a single-speed transmission. The battery uses LFP (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry with 27.5 kWh of usable capacity. Renault says its cell-to-pack design cut battery cost by 20%.
Official range is up to 263 km WLTP for the Evolution trim, with consumption from 12.2 kWh/100 km. "Renault" says that is the lowest in its class. The press kit quotes 0–50 km/h in 3.85 seconds and a weight of about 1,200 kg for Evolution, while the configurator lists a kerb weight of 1,200 to 1,245 kg.
Charging
The configurator lists a 6.6 kW AC onboard charger and DC fast charging at up to 50 kW. On the model page, Renault notes that DC charging is "available depending on options". On a 50 kW charger, the battery goes from 15% to 80% in about 28 minutes. The Twingo also has V2L, so you can power an electric device straight from the car.
Dimensions and space
The Twingo is 3,789 mm long, 1,720 mm wide without mirrors and 1,490 mm tall, with 143 mm of ground clearance. Its 9.87 m turning circle is tighter than the Renault 5's. It has 5 doors and 4 seats. The two individual rear seats slide by 17 cm and fold 50/50. Boot space reaches 360 litres with the rear seats pushed forward, and maximum load length reaches 2 m with the front passenger seatback folded (depending on trim).
What each trim includes
Evolution comes with a 10.1-inch OpenR Link touchscreen, smartphone mirroring (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless too), a 7-inch digital cluster, full LED lights, manual air conditioning, rear parking sensors, 16-inch steel wheels and a driver fatigue monitoring camera.
Techno adds the multimedia system with navigation and Google built-in, a rear-view camera and automatic emergency braking assistance. The European press release also lists one-pedal driving on Techno. Depending on the trim, the Twingo can have up to 24 driver assistance systems. Renault also says the Twingo is built in Europe, at the Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia.
What it means for drivers
For Romania, the Twingo E-Tech electric is one of the most interesting new EVs of the year. It has a list price under €20,000, very low consumption and a size that suits the city. The 27.5 kWh battery is not meant for frequent long trips, but for a daily commute of a few dozen kilometres you will plug in at home once or twice a week. Add the Rabla bonus and the Twingo could become the cheapest route to a new electric car from a European brand. My advice: check in the final quote that 50 kW DC charging is included on the trim you pick, and ask for a delivery date. I could not find a delivery timeframe for Romania on the official site.
