We went through the new Roadster's official page: rocket-inspired paint, a yoke cockpit, fans strong enough to hold the car upside down, and the reservation terms.

After last night's reveal, Tesla put the full Roadster page online, packed with photos and technical details. We went through it section by section. For the event recap and the ramp demo, see our reveal article.

Design: clean lines and rocket-grade paint

"Tesla" describes the look as minimalist but highly technical: hidden headlights, a taillight spanning the full width and aero elements sitting flush with the body. The wheels are very light, with slim spokes. The Ano White paint borrows from aerospace, protecting against UV, extreme cold and corrosion, while the gold-tinted glass echoes a spacesuit visor, set off by titanium accents.

The Ultrawhite cabin gets grey microsuede details and bolstered seats for grip. The yoke is built for steer-by-wire, and two small displays sit ahead of the driver next to the center screen. A fixed seat position, manual controls and materials such as magnesium, titanium and carbon fibre keep weight down.

Fans that glue the car to the road

A fan and ground-sealing system pulls air from under the car, creating downforce even at a standstill. Tesla says the suction is strong enough to hold the Roadster upside down while stationary. Track Mode lowers the car, retunes the suspension and lets the driver pick high-downforce or low-drag settings.

Thrusters and three versions

The cold-gas thrusters use all-electric actuators and make corrections in fractions of a second to keep the car stable in flight. The page lists three versions: Performance, two seats, by reservation; Thrust, two seats, a limited release with rear thrusters and 0–60 mph in under a second; and Rocket, one seat, invite-only, with a full flight system. Rocket is not approved for public roads and won't be offered in every region.

What it means for drivers

Reservations are open: in the US you pay a fully refundable $5,000 now and $45,000 within 10 days, or the reservation is cancelled. Tesla's Romanian site lists the same steps at 24,770 lei and 222,890 lei. Final pricing and delivery dates aren't on the page yet, but the first step towards the most spectacular Tesla so far is just a click away.
