Tesla Supercharger opens in Iași, Romania: the Brătuleni site on the road to Lețcani

On October 9, 2026, Iași got its first Tesla Supercharger. We went there on opening day: eight stalls, open 24/7, right next to the national road toward Lețcani.

Iași, the largest city in Romania's Moldova region, finally has a Tesla Supercharger. The site opened on October 9, 2026, and I was there on opening day. It sits on the western edge of Iași toward Lețcani, right next to the national road, with Iași on one side and Lețcani on the other.

What we found on site

  • Eight charging stalls.
  • The site is open 24/7.
  • Access is straight off the national road, so it is easy to reach whether you are driving into Iași or heading out toward Târgu Frumos and Suceava.
  • Nearby is Turbo Lider, a turbocharger repair shop for diesel and petrol engines.

I couldn't show the charging power in the video. The community database "supercharge.info" lists the site at Strada Carului 1, Brătuleni, with 8 V4 stalls rated at up to 250 kW; on October 9 it still showed it as "under construction", even though the site is already open. On site there are eight stalls. We will report the real charging speed after the first sessions.

Why it matters for Moldova

Until now, EV drivers passing through Iași relied on other networks. The nearest new fast-charging hub is Eldrive's site in Răducăneni, also on the DN28, which we covered in our article on Eldrive's new Romanian sites. The Iași Supercharger adds to Tesla's Romanian network, which had 16 open sites at the start of the month (details here).

Superchargers in Romania are open to other brands too. Non-Tesla drivers charge through the Tesla app, which shows the price and free stalls in advance.

What we hope comes next

For now it is charging only. A toilet and a kiosk or café nearby would be welcome for a 20–30 minute stop.

More importantly, in September Tesla posted job openings for Iași in sales and in service and parts, with the service center in Brătuleni, as "Iasi4U" and "Business24" reported. So a Tesla showroom and service center in Iași look like the next step. There is no official opening date yet.

Electric cars, tested in real life

On Mașina Timpului (@NotATeslaKiller) you'll find long Tesla road trips across Europe, real range and consumption tests, Tesla FSD, sleeping in EVs and charging stations. About 5 videos a week (in Romanian).
