This year, Black Friday came early for some Romanian EV drivers. On October 30, 2026, iHunt EV, the charging network of the Romanian company iHunt, ran a one-day deal: anyone who topped up their balance in the app with a prepaid pack got the same amount again as a bonus. The offer is over, but it is worth looking at how it worked, because deals like this one may come back.

How the Black Friday deal worked

According to the official rules, the "Black Friday iHunt EV 2026 — 100% top-up bonus" campaign ran only on October 30, from 09:00 to 23:59 Romanian time. It could also end earlier if the total budget set aside for bonuses ran out. Packs could only be bought in the iHunt EV app:

You paid Bonus Total balance
100 lei 100 lei 200 lei
250 lei 250 lei 500 lei
500 lei 500 lei 1,000 lei
1,000 lei 1,000 lei 2,000 lei
2,500 lei 2,500 lei 5,000 lei
5,000 lei 5,000 lei 10,000 lei

Packs, balance and starting a charge are all handled in the app.

In practice, every leu paid was worth two at the charger, so charging effectively came out at half price.

The conditions in brief

  • Both individuals and companies with an active iHunt EV account could take part.
  • Repeat purchases were allowed, including of the same pack. The rules set no limit per person, only one overall allocation shared by all packs.
  • iHunt could switch off packs one by one as it got close to the bonus limit.
  • The bonus was credited once the payment was confirmed.
  • The balance can be used only at iHunt EV network chargers in Romania, not at other operators' chargers reachable through roaming.

Who is behind iHunt EV

iHunt is not a foreign brand. iHunt Technology Import Export S.A. is based in Ploiești and started in 2015 as an importer of phones and accessories from China. The company describes itself as "100% Romanian-owned" and has been listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange since 2019, on the AeRO market, under the ticker HUNT.

Today, iHunt sells phones, smart-home products and small appliances, as well as EV chargers. According to iHunt, the company owns 100% of iHunt EV. In its 2025 annual report, the company says it closed the year with net revenue of 57.98 million lei and a net profit of 4.14 million lei. EV charger sales alone brought in more than 11.2 million lei, up 154% on 2024.

A network that keeps growing

Charging is the part of the business that is growing the fastest. According to the annual report, the iHunt EV network passed 1,000 operational charge points in 2025, up from just over 350 active locations at the end of 2024. On its website, the company mentions about 700 locations across the country. In Bucharest it has hubs of 1 MW and 1.2 MW, plus an ultra-fast hub with two 720 kW chargers. iHunt says it plans to keep expanding the network.

What it means for drivers

On iHunt EV, the price is shown in the app before you start charging, and it can vary from one charger to another. For comparison, pretcarburant.ro has collected the standard tariffs published by other Romanian operators: for example, MOL charges 1.70 lei/kWh on AC and 2.30 lei/kWh on DC, PPC Blue 1.99 / 2.50 lei/kWh, and E.ON 2.50 / 2.82 lei/kWh (checked on September 28, 2026). With the balance doubled on Black Friday, any tariff in the iHunt EV app effectively cost half for anyone who bought a pack.

If you missed the deal, keep an eye on the iHunt EV app and website for future offers. Before buying a large pack, check that iHunt EV chargers are on the routes you drive most often, because the balance cannot be used on any other network.
