Why Stop at the New Tesla Supercharger in Veszprém?
Hungary's 19th Tesla Supercharger is live in Veszprém: 16 V4 stalls, up to 250 kW, in a shopping-centre car park near Lake Balaton. What it means for westbound drivers and for travellers from Romania.

Hungary has another fast-charging stop on the Tesla map. According to "Villanyautósok", the Veszprém Supercharger went live on November 4, 2026, and by November 5 the site reported that Hungary's network had reached 19 stations. "TeslaFlow" and "Tesla EV Club" picked up the story in the following days: it is the country's 19th Supercharger, with 16 V4 stalls, in a shopping-centre car park.
For drivers who cross western Hungary toward Lake Balaton, Austria or Slovenia — including many coming from Romania — the site fills a practical gap on the road, not just on the map.
Where it is
The address published by "Villanyautósok" and listed on GoingElectric is Dornyai Béla utca 3, Veszprém, in the Shop Stop / Stop Shop parking lot behind the Euronics store. GoingElectric lists the site as open 24/7, publicly accessible, with 16 charging bays.
Veszprém sits on the way to the northern shore of Lake Balaton and the Bakony hills. If you are coming from Budapest on Route 8 or heading farther west, it is a logical stop: you can charge and, if you want, shop or take a short break in the same place. "Villanyautósok" notes that a nearby water tower is a useful landmark from a distance.
How many stalls and how much power
There are 16 Supercharger V4 posts on site. The important technical detail, reported by "Villanyautósok" and repeated by "TeslaFlow", is that the posts are fed by V3 cabinets: peak power is 250 kW, on a 400 V architecture.
In practice:
- 400 V cars (Model 3, Model Y and many other CCS EVs) can use the site at the usual pace of European V3/V4 Superchargers of this type;
- 800 V cars will only get what they can accept at 400 V — so do not expect the charging curve you see at dedicated 800 V hubs.
GoingElectric confirms 16 × HPC 250 kW CCS, all listed as available after the November 5 update.
What charging costs
Prices published by "Villanyautósok" (and summarised by "TeslaFlow") vary by time of day and customer type:
- Tesla owners and monthly subscribers: HUF 159/kWh between 08:00 and 22:00, HUF 122/kWh off-peak;
- other brands, without a subscription: HUF 228/kWh, or HUF 175/kWh off-peak.
Rates can change at any time in the Tesla app. Always check the in-app display before you start a session — that is the baseline rule at every European Supercharger.
Why it matters for trips from Romania
Many Romanian drivers cross Hungary on the A1/M1 toward Budapest and Vienna. Veszprém is not on the M1, but it is on the route to Lake Balaton, the resorts in the west and more southerly links into Austria and Slovenia. If you are planning a Balaton break or a detour on Route 8, Veszprém is now a stop you can drop into the Tesla trip planner or ABRP.
Hungary has also opened other Superchargers recently (including Érd and Zalaegerszeg in the autumn roundups). Veszprém strengthens the network toward Balaton, where summer queues at other hubs are harder to avoid.
Open to other brands
Like most recent European Superchargers, the Veszprém site is listed with CCS on GoingElectric. Non-Tesla drivers start the session in the Tesla app (or via card/ad-hoc payment where available). On the European CCS market you do not need a Magic Dock adapter: the cable is Combo 2.
What it means for drivers
If you drive a Tesla toward Balaton or through western Hungary, Veszprém is a new stop with many stalls and better rates overnight. It is worth putting on the map before the summer season, when sites in the area fill up.
If you drive an 800 V EV, note the 400 V / 250 kW limit. You can charge, but not at the car's peak power. For a short 10–80% stop, a nearby Ionity hub or an 800 V Supercharger may still be faster.
If you only transit Hungary on the M1, Veszprém is not on your direct route. Do not force it into the plan; it matters when the road takes you toward Balaton, Veszprém or the west of the country.
Always check the app. Free stalls, the price per kWh and station status appear live. Hungarian sources confirmed the opening on November 4–5; the Tesla map and the in-car trip planner are the real-time reference.
